Mean, Median, and Mode
Mean = "average"
Add up all the numbers and divide by the number of items you added.
{ 4, 8, 3, 6, 8, 1, 6 }
4+8+3+6+8+1+6 = 30
36/6 = 6
Median = "middle"
Find the number in the middle
{ 4, 8, 3, 6, 8, 1, 6 }
so 1 3 4 6 6 8 8 is in order and the middle is 6
Mode = "most frequent"
Find the number that appears most frequently
{ 4, 8, 3, 6, 8, 1, 6 }
Both 6 and 8 appear twice so the mode is 6 and 8
